Making a living as a portrait artist from the age of 17, Chuck has explored diverse approaches and media, including portrait collaborations with children and immersive art installations that brought together visual art with live music and improvisational theater in galleries in Iowa City and New York City. Illustrations for his children’s book, “The Storytelling Tree” were recently displayed at the Figge Art Museum. An art inspiration app he created called “Shake the Muse” randomly combines elements of visual language to offer one of more than 20 billion possible art style ideas. Chuck is now creating works based on these chance suggestions. At FACE, he will paint a live portrait inspired by “Shake the Muse.”
