Jennifer Kirby

Jenni Kirby is a native of Smyth County, Virginia. She is a graduate of Marion Senior High School and has a degree in Business Management from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA.

Jenni is a Gallery/Art Center Owner as well as a Mosaicist. She started taking mosaic classes in 1997 in Orlando Florida where she studied under Michelle Petno. After moving to Richmond in 1999, she started teaching out of her Studio in Shockoe Bottom Art Center, as well as at The Virginia Museum of Fine Art, The Visual Art Center, John Tyler Community College, J. Sergeant Community College, University of Richmond and Crossroads Art Center. Jenni furthered her studies in both Rome and Ravenna, Italy. First, in Rome with Enzo Aiello, who studied at the Vatican and then in Ravenna, Italy at the Mosaic’s Art School.

In 2002, Jenni and fellow artist James Bassfield opened the Crossroads Art Center in Richmond, VA. Over the years, the art center has grown to 25,000 square feet and over 225 artists. The Art Center has the broadest selection of art in the Central Virginia Area. James retired in 2012 so with the help of her great staff, she is keeping an already successful business of 17 years running smoothly.

The mission of The CROSSROADS ART CENTER is to exhibit the work of emerging and established artists from the mid-Atlantic region; to promote public awareness and understanding of the concepts of all art forms; and to offer instruction and education in the visual arts.

Crossroads is actively involved in the Richmond local artists’ community and thereby an important educational and cultural resource for the community. The art center’s wide client-base includes private collectors, art consultants, corporate consultants, architects, interior designers as well as business, government and social VIPs.
