Known for her colorful and dramatic oils, Christine Lashley gathers ideas by frequently painting outdoors. Her paintings fuse reality and the abstract, using color and texture to look realistic from afar but dissolve into abstraction up close.

Honors include Best Landscape at the 27th Oil Painter’s of America (OPA) National show, Portrait Society Award, ARC Salon, and numerous plein air prizes at juried events such as Telluride Plein Air (Best of Show), and Bath County Plein Air (Best of Show). Publications include the cover and feature article in Plein Air Magazine. She has taught workshops for over 20 years.
