The paintings and pastels of Daniel E. Greene’s hang in more than 700 public and private collections. In 2001, the Portrait Society of America presented Mr. Greene with their Medal of Honor. In 1999, he won The Artists Fellowship Benjamin Clinedinst Medal and the American Society of Portrait Artists honored Greene with the John Singer Sargent Award. In 1992, the Oil Painters of America named him to their Hall of Fame. In 1983, Mr. Greene was inducted into the Pastel Hall of Fame. Mr. Greene is the author of two definitive books, “Pastel” and “The Art of Pastel” which have been translated into eight languages. Numerous articles about his art have appeared in magazines in the US and abroad. He was the subject of two 2018 Museum Retrospective exhibitions at The Butler Institute of American Art and the Mattatuck Museum.
