John Wurdeman

John Wurdeman has spent over 20 years studying 20th century Russian Realism and collects works from this period. He is President of Lazare Gallery Ltd, a specialty Russian art gallery and is the Director of Vision Art Fund which invests solely in Russian artworks. John has lectured at Museums and Universities on the subject of Russian art in four countries. He is featured in a museum documentary on Russian artists involved in the great evacuation during WWII. In 2009 John Wurdeman was awarded an honorary diploma from the Russian Artist Union as well as the Surikov Medal, Russia’s top arts medal awarded by the Russian Academy of the Arts for his contribution to the knowledge of 20th century Russian Art. He also has an honorary degree from the Surikov Institute in Moscow. His perspective has been gleaned from spending thousands of hours questioning and listening to many of Russia’s most elevated 20th-century artists.
