Project Description

Loryn Brazier

Loryn Brazier studied commercial art and illustration at Virginia Commonwealth University. She worked as an advertising director before opening her own advertising agency.

After a year in Europe visiting museums and galleries, her focus shifted to painting and portraiture. She painted under the tutelage of her friend and instructor, Everett Raymond Kinstler.

In 1996, Loryn opened the only exclusively representational art gallery in Richmond, Virginia. She closed it in 2018 to focus on painting. She founded Plein Air Richmond.

Her work hangs in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery and The National Museum of Women in Art.
